2011 Annual Board Meeting Notice

The WHPOA Annual Meeting will be held on Monday, May 2, 6:30 PM, at the Harbourtown Pizza King.  The board encourages all current residents to attend this important yearly meeting.

3/23/2011 WHPOA Board Meeting Minutes

Present: Jan Helms , Jeannie Snay, Joanna Post, Shannon Bassett, Christine Earley, Rachel Purciful, Shelli Stohler, Brian Snay

Treasurer:  Twenty-seven letters went out for residents who have not paid dues as of this date.  Late fees have been added at this point.  Residents who are experiencing difficulty paying their dues are encouraged to contact Rachel Purciful to make payment arrangements.  Treasurer position on the board will be opening up in May.

Pool: Megan Oiler will be returning this summer as head lifeguard through then end of July.  The pool company will begin opening the pool one week prior to the official open date so that everything is ready to go.  Palmetto Bay will also open and clean bathrooms, and clean lounge chairs. We will be ordering replacement filters for pool early in the season as prices will go up in June.

Commons: The city will no longer charge a fee for garage sale sign permits.  Joanna gathered information for deluxe board signs with interchangeable letters to utilize for neighborhood events.

Event Dates:

(All events are for West Harbour Residents current on dues or payment arrangements.)

Spring Garage Sales :  April 28-30th

Easter Egg Hunt : Sunday, April 17th

Spring Clean Up: Saturday, May 14th

Landscape Solutions will be donating the mulch as they have in the past.

Summer Bash: Saturday, July 23


Entrance signs: We are still looking for residents who would be interested in serving on a committee dedicated to the purchase of new entrance signs.

2/2/2011 WHPOA Board Meeting Minutes

Present: Jan Helms (President), Jeannie Snay (Vice President), Joanna Post (Commons Director), Shannon Bassett (Secretary), Christine Early (newsletter), Marsha and Dan Schneider (residents)

Treasurer: The 2010 budget was reviewed. Most items came in at or below budget. Copies of the 2010 and 2011 budgets were sent out with dues letters.

Pool: We will continue with the previous pool company and ask that they begin pool opening procedure a week earlier than our scheduled open date so that we will be ready to open. We are still looking for someone who might be interested in filling the position of Pool Liason. If you are interested, please contact a board member. The tentative open date for the pool witll be Memorial Day Weekend.

Commons: Lawn care will be continued with Landscape Solutions for the next 2 years at the same price as our last contract. Upcoming Spring/Summer events were discussed. Joanna will look at her calendar to put together a tentative schedule. We are anticipating continuing with the Spring Clean-up, Spring Garage Sales, Easter Egg Hunt, and Summer Bash. Final dates have not been decided. We are considering not having the Tween Party as the turn out was not very good.

Entrance signs: Discussion continues regarding entrance signs. Information has been gathered from several different sign companies as well as the kinds of restrictions we might face from the city/county. A committee is being formed so that residents may take a more active role in the process. If you are interested in being involved in the committee contact a board memeber.

May 3rd, Annual meeting and board election!

surf_board_meeting_card-p137694051110942242q0yk_400We are approaching the Annual WHPOA meeting on May 3rd. This meeting is when we the WHPOA board election takes place. This is an important event and we hope that there will be a good number of members that will meet up. As we mentioned previously all the board positions are open. There are some candidates that have shown interest to take over the board positions and we look forward to welcoming them once they get elected.

Also the May 3rd meeting will be a combined annual meeting (elections) and regular board meeting so here is the tentative agenda:

3/8/2010 WHPOA Board Meeting Minutes

Present:  Dave Harp, Shelli Stohler, Rachel Purciful, Joanna Post, T.J. Keene, Jan Helms, Dan Helms, Brian Snay, Jeannie Snay, Debra Halbert, Chad Basett, Dan Schneider, Marsha Schneider, Jennifer Dotzert, Jeff Clark

Annual Meeting:  The WHPOA annual meeting will take place on May 3rd.  Please mark your calendars and plan on attending.  We will meet at 7:00 p.m. at the pool.    Dave Harp explained the procedures and guidelines for the May elections.

Pool Liaison:  We have learned Megan Oiler will be coming back this summer.  The board is undecided if the pool liaison position would be necessary with Megan coming back as head lifeguard.

Pool:  The pool is scheduled to open May 22nd.  The pool house renovations should be completed by that time.  Once started, they should take about 2 weeks to complete.  We have seven applications for lifeguards at this time.

Commons:  The board will be looking into replacing the basketball goal this year.  The Egg Hunt is scheduled for March 27th.  The play ground has been installed and we are waiting on mulch.

Joanna Post will be taking over as Commons Director for this year.  Thanks so much to Deb Halbert for all of her hard work.
