Annual Meeting:  The WHPOA annual meeting will take place on May 3rd.  Please mark your calendars and plan on attending.  We will meet at 7:00 p.m. at the pool.    Dave Harp explained the procedures and guidelines for the May elections.

Pool Liaison:  We have learned Megan Oiler will be coming back this summer.  The board is undecided if the pool liaison position would be necessary with Megan coming back as head lifeguard.

Pool:  The pool is scheduled to open May 22nd.  The pool house renovations should be completed by that time.  Once started, they should take about 2 weeks to complete.  We have seven applications for lifeguards at this time.

Commons:  The board will be looking into replacing the basketball goal this year.  The Egg Hunt is scheduled for March 27th.  The play ground has been installed and we are waiting on mulch.

Joanna Post will be taking over as Commons Director for this year.  Thanks so much to Deb Halbert for all of her hard work.

New WHPOA Board Needed!

Although it seems that we are the deep of winter, we are nearing the end of February and before we know it spring will be here with all the great activities that we have here in West Harbour. Easter egg hunt, Spring garage sales, and the ever so popular Spring clean-up 🙂 .

In order for these activities and to continue to have a well functioning owners association it is imperative that we find some people that are willing to run for the currently open board positions. As we mentioned previously all the board positions are open. Some of us simply are busy with other things and would like to let other members have a turn at running the association and others, like me, are simply in the process of relocating. The sum of it is that if there are no members that are willing to take over these activities they may not happen and even more critical the pool opening and operation may be very difficult to accomplish.

So please let us put our heads together and make sure that we can recruit some of our members to take over the board positions. The health and operation of our community is at risk. Is that not important for everybody?

Please help us find our next WHPOA board members! Also, do not forget to look at the calendar and participate in our upcoming board meetings.

Agenda for Board Meeting Jan 25th, 2010

We have an upcoming board meeting on Monday 25th of January. We have some important agenda items to discuss, among others the need to find new board members for the upcoming year. We also plan to review quotes and proposals for the pool bathroom renovation project that will be presented by TJ Keene.

The meeting will be held at the Pizza King in Harbourtown Centre, Monday Jan 25th at 7:00 PM.

Here is the tentative agenda:

Annual Board Meeting – May 4th.

May 4, 2009
Annual Board Meeting

Present: Gilad Langer, Dave Harp, Rachel Purciful, Shelli Stohler, Debra Halbert, Jeannie Snay, Tamara Tucker, Christy Chimel, Christine Earley, Stephanie Smith, John, Smith, Paul Purciful, Jason Barnett, Shannon Bassett, Jeff Clark

The Board of Directors were nominated as follows: Gilad Langer, Dave Harp, and Shelli Stohler. There were 12 proxy votes and 7 in person votes in favor of this board for 2009-2010. One homeowner voted against this board being elected.

The Board of Directors then decided to appoint the WHPOA board at a later time to see if anyone expressed interest in any positions.

Commons: Spring Clean-Up will be May 9, 2009 at 9:00 am. There is a “To-Do List” posted on our web page. Please feel free to pick a task and perform it any time during the day or weekend. Just let Gilad know what you would be willing to do. A huge THANKS to Brian Spears for donating mulch to our Spring Clean-Up. We truly appreciate your donations! We will be looking into getting a new basketball goal.

Playground Set: It has been recommended to the board that the set needs to be tore down. It is too much of a liability to repair. Jeff Clark was kind enough to get a bid by Recreations Unlimited for a new playground. It was also suggested that a committee be formed to get bids and recommendations for the new set. Jeff Clark offered to take charge of this project.

Pool: The pool drains are in the processes of being upgraded. Megan Oiler will be the head life-guard this season. She will be in charge of the guard schedule and running of the pool. We had 5 life-guard applications turned in.

We are looking for “New Neighbor Greeters.” Please see a board member if you would like to welcome a new neighbor on your street.

Please look for all of the pool hours and neighborhood information on our website, Twitter and Facebook.
