Once again we must postpone the opening of the WHPOA pool. We are truly sorry for this inconvenience and understand the frustration our residents are feeling. It was our plan and our hope to have the pool open for Memorial Day weekend with the needed repairs and updates completed. Unfortunately, as the work began, new and unexpected problems were identified. These issues had to be addressed before the planned maintenance could begin. As a result our opening date has been pushed out to June 6 with the possibility of opening sooner. We know all West Harbour residents work hard to pay their dues so they can utilize and enjoy the commons facilities of this neighborhood. It has been our goal as your WHPOA Board to use your dues wisely and maintain these areas to the best of our ability. We are certain you will appreciate the work that is being done to the pool. In an effort to make up for some of the lost pool time, we plan to extend the season one week past our usual Labor Day closing, weather permitting. We will post the intended schedule to the website once it is completed. We appreciate your patience and understanding and look forward to a pleasant and enjoyable summer season. Sincerely, WHPOA Board of Directors
I'm sure most of you have noticed that our pool has been "under construction" for a few weeks. We are in the midst of replacing the coping (the trim around the pool), resurfacing the bottom of the pool and replacing the heater. Due to the poor weather conditions (the rain as well as the lower temps), it has significantly slowed progress and therefore will delay the opening of the pool. Our original opening was scheduled for May 24. Our new scheduled opening will be May 31st, barring any other complications. We know this may cause an inconvenience to your holiday plans and we apologize for this.
Those present were: Jason Voyak Joanna Post Jan Helms Jeannie Snay David Post Erin Redding BJ Young Bruce Young First was a review of the current budget. Things are looking good and right on budget. 2013 Pool Season a success -- new basketball goal, chairs, fencing were great additions and appreciated by residents who visited the pool. We are currently taking bids from pool companies for the next pool season. We are looking into more fencing around the basketball and tennis courts. It appears that one of our new pines is in trouble and may be diseased and will either be replaced with another tree or possibly some sort of perennial. We discussed the problem with the solar lights at each entrance. The installing company has already been notified and is correcting the problem. We spoke of the school buses in the neighborhood and the speeding issues. Those seem to be resolved. Notices are going to out to those residents who are not complying to the neighborhood bylaws. We discussed ADA issues at the pool and poolhouse. We spoke about the Summer Bash. Most felt it needs to be moved back to summer break. There is a possibility of a Fall event. We are waiting to hear from our Commons Director about this. The Fall Garage Sale was brought up. It will be September 26,27,28 from 9-5. More advertising may be needed. Submitted by: Joanna Post
